The age old argument regarding the one and only Saint Nick still stands…. What should we leave out by the chimney for Santa whilst he is delivering his presents on Christmas Eve? Many people have several different opinions on the subject, there seems to be an identifiable trend in regional arguments. For example in Denmark they leave out Rice Pudding, apparently to please Santa and hopefully stop him from his Christmassy mischief, whilst in the US cookies and milk seems to do the trick for Santa. Traditionally in the Jolly old UK we leave mince pies and a drop of sherry to keep Santa warm, but thinking about it, surely there are their better promotional gifts we could give Santa? Promotional gifts work perfectly for Chris Cringle because 9/10 of them are useful items and if you gift Santa the right product could be increase his productivity on that night thus finding your way onto his extra good list for next year!
The last suggestion of Sherry to keep Santa warm has it’s uses, but with all that sherry, I do not believe Santa will be able to drive his sleigh properly thus having a counterproductive effect. So this gives us an opportunity to fulfil a requirement. One important aspect that comes to choosing all promotional items is to ask if the item fulfils a requirement, for example a great promotional gift for carpenters would be a promotional measuring tape, an item that would without a shout of a doubt be handy for carpenters. Now to keeping St. Nick warm, I would suggest promotional hand warmers! From my calculations each hard warmer lasts for approximately half an hour, and if Santa Clause’s trip lasts 24 hours, that would mean he would need 48 hand warmers, but no need to worry! He can simply boil them in hot water and they are ready to go for next year providing longevity also!
A great promotional product for truck drivers is the promotional travel mug, due to the amount of travelling they do. Now if it’s good enough for truck drivers, it’s good enough for Santa Clause. 24 hours is a pretty tight deadline to travel around the world, A fantastic cup of coffee would be the one thing I would want on such a journey, so Santa Clause must have to enjoy one too! Also he could encourage parents to leave their coffee machine on for top ups as he’s visiting from house to house!
My final suggestion for a promotional product to give Santa has to be the one and only Promotional Pen. The promotional pen is almost a celebrity in the promotional merchandise industry, everybody needs one, and they can fulfil every budget. The great thing about promotional product is you do not have to give an item that is usable on the spot, but can be used in the home and in the office, or in Santa’s case in the workshop. It is that last little reminder that when he’s writing his list and checking it twice, going to find out who’s naughty or nice, he reminds who gave them that pen, thus giving that little nudge into the nice column.
