Promotional Merchandise For all The Senses

Promotional merchandise has come a long way since mere mugs and t-shirts. Thanks to a constantly forward thinking industry, promotional items continue to be innovative and current. There are many different uses people may have for promotional merchandise, either to give out as a corporate gift, or a public giveaway.

With a great amount of promotional merchandise already on the market, companies are looking for different ways to stimulate people’s interest. One great way of doing this is by identifying the main senses people use and finding new ways to encourage people to use these senses. For example many promotional merchandise items, are pleasing to the eye or even to the touch, in fact the majority of the promotional items on the market fulfil both of these specifications.

Some companies want to push the boundaries when it comes to stimulating senses, and come away from the standard sight and touch. An increasing number of companies are delving into lesser known territories of promotional products, with companies interested in stimulating taste; in fact some promotional companies have dedicated their whole product range to sweets and chocolate.

I would say smell is probably the least common of the senses that people are interested in in the promotional merchandise industry, although several companies are trying to develop a promotional branded scent, so whenever you smell that scent you will know its dedicated to that company.

For me I would say the next leading sense people are looking to simulate through promotional products is sound. With the number of audio products continually increasing within the promotional merchandise market, it is evident that sound is a very important aspect of life. Many people can identify companies even just from a few bars of their popular jingles.

This is why it only makes sense to distribute audio orientated promotional merchandise. This can be anything from earphones to whole mp3 players. There are audio products for all kinds of budgets. For example if you budget is quite tight you could settle for something as simple as ear phone winders.  On the other end of the scale if you have quite a lot of room in your budget you can stretch to a good quality mp4 player. The great thing about an Mp4 player is you are able to advertise in more than one way. You can advertise externally on the actual device, or to be really clever you can pre load the device with an advertising video that the person see’s when they turn the device on, thus combining two types of advertising in one promotional product.

It really just go to show, when you think outside of the box, how limitless your options can be. Maybe you could produce an item that incorporates more than one sense, or even all 5. Who knows what the future of innovation holds, but the only thing we can be certain about is the fact that when it arrives, the promotional merchandise industry will be at the door to greet it.
