BTC Group helps the BPMA drive the industry forward at the sell out Compliance Seminar. 45 delegates from suppliers and distributors attended the BPMA’s sell out seminar held at the Ethical Trading Initiative Office in London on Monday 21st June. The seminar was created by the bpma to support its growing supplier and distributor membership, with critical information, showing members how to achieve best practice both ethically and from a product conformity view point. Product conformity and Ethical trading are fast becoming core drivers by brands, retailers and the corporate community when purchasing decisions are made within the promotional merchandise industry. Due to the increasing demand, it is essential that both distributors and suppliers understand their role and responsibility within the industry supply chain. Suppliers who attended gained a clear understanding of product testing and new EN71 regulations commencing in 2011 and factory |
auditing. Distributor delegates understood what questions they should be asking their suppliers to meet the needs of the ultimate client.
Our very own Senior Marketing Manager, Jon Birrell was invited to be a guest speaker based on his experience with ethical trading and compliance. Other guest speakers included Tom Smith - Sedex, Martin Cooke - ETI, Robert Hinchcliffe - Intertek and Sebastien Breteau - Asia Inspection. As industry experts in this field, Jon and one of BTC Group’s major suppliers gave a supplier and distributor perspective, which proved to be an extremely valued section amongst the delegates.
“It was very useful to get a broad cross section of our industry sharing their thoughts and ideas on this ever-increasingly important subject” says Paul Beirne, Sales Director of BTC Group.
Due to the success of this event, the BPMA have already began developing the seminar even further and will be hosting an even bigger event in the Autumn season.
