Embroidered Long Sleeved Polo Shirts – Promotional Clothing With A Real Touch Of Class

From a fashion point of view long sleeve promotional polo shirts have only really taken off in the past 5 years or so. Prior to that most embroidered polo shirts or for that matter printed polo shirts were short sleeved because they were seen as a summer wear fashion but all that has now changed.

It’s worth noting how much the high street fashion trend affect the promotional textile markets and maybe visa versa. It was only a few years ago that workwear shirts were more often than not short sleeved especially in the summer months. OK in hot countries such as Spain and Italy short sleeve work shirts are always going to be the order of the day but more northern climates tended to only use them in the summer and then not very much.

Promotional  polo shirts on the other hand seem to have gone in the other direction in that up to a few years ago long sleeve promotional polos were hardly ever seen. This does seem a little odd in retrospect when you think back to how popular long sleeve printed T-shirts are. However nobody can really account for how fashion changes from year to year.

The major manufacturers of these great promotional textiles such as Kustom Kit, Hanes, Fruit Of The Loom, Jerzees and Starworld have really gone to town over the past few years and bought out a very good range of coloured promotional long sleeved polo shirts. They have also gone to the trouble of making the polos in a variety of fabrics for example 100% cotton and 65/35 poly cotton mix. So you even have a choice of fabrics and weights depending upon the time of year.

Another influence on the wearing of long sleeve polo shirts is the golf market. A few years back American golfers started what then seemed to be a silly looking habit of wearing layers of clothing in different ways. For example they would wear printed long sleeve T-shirts underneath embroidered polo shirts. This looked slightly daft as it looked as if they had left their underwear on by mistake however it caught on and is now normal wear. But now many of them just wear embroidered long sleeve polo shirts to save having to put on two different items.
