Promotional Ponchos – The Perfect product For Outdoor Promotions
If there is one thing that we can be sure of it is that the weather in Great Britain will always require people to have every eventuality covered. How many times can you remember did it rain on Bank Holidays? I would estimate that it’s probably about a 7 in 10 chance for a downpour as soon as the date appears on the calendar.
Promotional Ponchos for this reason alone make the most wonderful pieces of promotional merchandise for a number of reasons. For a start, unlike promotional sweets they don’t go out of date and unlike promotional clothing they are all one size. They are compact so can fit in a pocket, pouch or glove compartment. They make superb business gifts because the have such a large print area and they are available ion such a massive range of colours.
Over the years the promotional printed Ponchos have become more and more popular which is rather strange when you consider that global warming is supposed to dry up the planet. You only need go to a local garden fete or funfair when it’s wet to see thousands of these super promotional items on show.
On a recent visit to two flower shows, the Chelsea Show and the Hampton Court show the weather did it’s usual trick by staring sunnily, waiting for everyone to get out in their summer frocks then the heavens opened. Fortunately a very clever Insurance company had decided to invest in a very large quantity of give away promotional ponchos and literally within 10 minutes both shows were one massive advertisement for pensions and investments. A great move by a very smart marketing company.
Most promotional printed ponchos are now made in China due to the labour costs in Europe. However the cost of labour in China is rising inexorably so maybe soon we could see some manufacturing coming home. The biggest problem with these items in terms of branding is the overall size therefore it is now very common for the items to have a branded paper insert inside the carry bag. This does mean that the printed plastic macs are not individually branded but at least the recipients know where they came from.
Because of the difference in prices between UK supplies and Chinese manufacturers of printed ponchos it is very important to order them as early as possible. Certainly do try to allow at least 12 to 16 weeks or you may end up having to buy printed jackets or even embroidered fleeces instead.
