The Promotional Products Expo 2017 took place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, home of the Wasps rugby team. January exhibitions are always a great event to attend, where you can see the latest products being launched, and styles that can be identified as trends set for 2017.
The Ericsson hall of the arena was full to the brim with over 200 exhibitors not only from across the country, but some visiting from Europe and further! As already mentioned innovation and new ideas are two fantastic elements that create the buzz around exhibitions in January, and this definitely was not lacking at the Promotional Products Expo. One thing we definitely are learning though, is it’s not so much about what’s new anymore, it’s more about how has previous items been improved? Smarter technology is a feature you will be seeing increasingly not only in the consumer world but in the promotional world too, and we definitely saw some smarter technology at PPE 2017
- Gesture Control Modules for mobile devices
- Mini full colour print tracking devices
- A plethora of charging devices for android, apple and now USB Type C
- Fabric Bluetooth Speakers
- Plus many more!
The PPExpo also saw the launch of the PPD Leadership Network, a forum where representatives from distributors and suppliers could come together to discuss issues faced by the whole industry. The independent network is made up of several of the industry’s leading personalities including BTC Group’s very own Marketing Director, Jon Birrell. There were several interesting topics raised during the discussion such as the effects of currency changes, education of the benefits behind promotional products and price vs service.
