June’s blogging activity began with a piece on the research into the colour ‘Baker-Miller’ pink. This research outlines how this colour has been proven through studies to actually make people calmer. This theory has now been taken to the next level and designers Vollebak took the idea, and shifted it into the 21st century creating a technical hoodie designed to help people in stressful situations like athletes before a big game, relax better.

Thursday the 8th of June was a big day for the country as people across the country voted for their chosen political party. Taking politics out of the mix, BTC Group wanted to know what each party had to offer when it came to promotional merchandise. Surprisingly, not only did each party have a very different offering, but they also had their very own different ways to how they approached promotional products and how they used it within their parties.

Father’s day is celebrated across 70 different countries worldwide, a day dedicated to saying thank you to your dads or dad like figures for all the support they’ve given you. Turns out that apparently as thankful as we are for our fathers, we are more thankful for our mothers… as we spend on average a third less on father’s day gifts… But fathers across the world have no fear as this trend is shifting, as traditional gender roles are changing, fathers are contributing more to home life physically and emotionally, and with this we are seeing a lot more emphasis being placed in the concept of Father’s Day.

Can Promotional Clothing become High Fashion?

The world of high fashion is eccentric to say the least, but how does a promotional t-shirt from a worldwide logistics company fit in the mix? In 2016 the infamous yellow t-shirt with red branding made its way down a Parisian catwalk as it was introduced by French designer Vetements. The t-shirts were so popular that, despite holding a price tag of 185 dollars each, they sold out in no time. The main point that I thought should be looked at here is the power of social media and promotional products, a promotional story like this is amplified 10 fold just down to the fact that it was talked about widely on social media channels.
